Marwan Kheireddine's Efforts to Revitalize Lebanon's Economy

Marwan Kheireddine is the current Chairman & CEO of AM Bank, but he is most well-known for his time spent as the Minister of State of Lebanon.

During his time working for the federal government, Marwan Kheireddine worked primarily to help entrepreneurs start new businesses. Even today, Kheireddine is working independently to help the people of Lebanon both in and out of the board room.

While acting as Minister of State, Kheireddine worked on over 20 different committees. Some of those include the Business Environment in Lebanon Committee and the Public Private Partnership Law Committee. His primary goal was to correct many of the financial and economic woes of the country. One of his most important pieces of legislation involved funding and empowering would-be entrepreneurs. One of those laws was the Banque du Liban Circular 331 – a regulation intended to promote economic growth by allowing and encouraging banks to invest in technology startups.

Marwan Kheireddine got his education abroad, moving back to Lebanon to put his degrees to use. He earned his BA in Business Administration and Economics in the United Kingdom at Richmond University and his MBA in the United States at Columbia Business School. He even lectured at the American University of Beirut from 1993 through 2013.

In addition to his life in politics, Marwan Kheireddine also works with organizations to help Lebanon’s citizens independently. He is a founding member of the Lebanon Young Presidents’ Organization, or YPO. He is also a board member of the Lebanese Center for Policy Studies, or LCPS.
